Upper-tier waste-carrier registration
Government guidance says householders using a private house-clearance service should check for a current upper-tier waste-carrier registration. The number normally starts with CBDU and can be checked by business name, registration number or location on the Environment Agency register.
KindClear intends to record the registered legal name, number, tier and expiry or renewal position before a provider receives enquiries, then recheck it periodically.

Identity and insurance
The trading name should connect to a real person or legal business. Contact details, invoice name and insurance evidence should be consistent. KindClear should record that evidence was reviewed without publishing private policy documents.
A policy can expire or exclude certain work, so the existence of an insurance logo is not enough. The relevant cover and date must be checked with the provider.
Experience and references
Reviews are useful but do not replace a conversation about the actual work. Ask for recent examples relevant to probate, landlord, hoarding, heavy items or other specialist situations where applicable.
Partner photographs and reviews must remain clearly attributed to that partner. KindClear must never present work completed by an independent provider as its own work.
DBS checks need careful wording
A basic DBS check can be requested for many purposes, but higher-level checks are legally restricted to eligible roles. KindClear will not describe a crew as DBS checked unless the exact level, date and lawful basis for the check are understood.
Identity checks, references, supervision, complaint history and written procedures remain important regardless of whether a basic DBS certificate exists.

What verification does not mean
Checking documents cannot guarantee the quality or outcome of every job. Providers remain independent and responsible for their quotations, staff, vehicles, work and legal compliance.
The live site will state the date each provider was last checked and explain the limits of KindClear's verification process.
